The Experience

The creek is shallow enough to wade in. The jasper bed extends for about 300 meters, creating a surreal landscape of deep red stone beneath crystal-clear water. The colors are most vivid when sunlight hits the stone directly.

  • Sacred site: This is a sacred place for the Pemón people. Respect all posted rules.
  • No swimming: Wading is allowed but full swimming is prohibited.
  • Leave no trace: No food or waste should be left at the site.
