Quebrada de Jaspe
Quebrada de Jaspe (Jasper Creek) is a shallow stream that flows over a smooth bed of brilliant red jasper stone. The semi-precious stone has been polished by millennia of flowing water into a seamless, glowing surface.
Getting There
Located along the road from Santa Elena de Uairén to Canaima, Quebrada de Jaspe is one of the most accessible stops in the Gran Sabana. It's approximately 35 km from Santa Elena, reachable by car or organized tour.
The Experience
The creek is shallow enough to wade in. The jasper bed extends for about 300 meters, creating a surreal landscape of deep red stone beneath crystal-clear water. The colors are most vivid when sunlight hits the stone directly.
